One moment you’re a mother juggling between your work calls and daily household chores; moments later, you’re a father who has to plan a brief trip for upcoming holidays alongside managing a demanding job task. Further, you take up the teacher’s role in helping your child solve a mathematics problem or play a granny’s role in narrating historic or mystical stories. Well, the list is definitely extensive.

It may sound and feel overwhelmingly exhausting & terrible, but a bit of stability and balance in your daily life while playing all the required roles, could be the answer.

Let me tickle your brain with the below solutions:

Organize your mind:
Thoughts, dreams, wants, and goals — all have different meanings. Clear the confusion may have surfaced in your mind regarding each of these concepts. For instance; your GOAL may be to become a millionaire 5 years down the line. Hence, the process and steps that you’ll lay to reach this goal will be a part of your ‘PLANNING.’ If you daydream you want to become a millionaire someday — then this is just a want or a dream with no specific plan or process steps. Learn to differentiate between these concepts and focus only on the important action points for yourself and your child's stable present and near future.
This should help you reduce the anxiety of switching into different roles and will inject flexibility with ease.

Spend some “me-time” with yourself:
You need to find time for yourself so that you can cope, survive, and be strong for your child. Take an hour off work or a quick break and just walk, run, do cycling or Yoga etc. Be alone, reflect, and introspect at least once in 2 days. Write your daily journal. Make your gratitude list of life. Admire nature through your window panes. Treat your sense of hearing with birds chirping, your eyes with different trees, plants, cloudy sky or other creatures loitering in the neighbourhood. This should help you like your own self and know thyself better.

Enjoy & Live in the moment:
Whatever is it you’re doing with your child — teaching, reading or narrating a story, cooking for you two, or watching a TV show; just be in that moment and enjoy it to the fullest. As conscious parents, we think of our next task before we have completed the one we are in, currently. This is a common and most dangerous issue problem. We must get rid of this habit and just be fully consciously present in our present task or fun activity. Nothing in the world is going to fall apart in a few moments.

You should not worry about playing different roles or wearing different hats for your child. Your aim should be to become your child’s pal who understands your own self and hence has a good understanding of the child’s needs and desires.

Single parents have mostly proven to be prodigious in their roles, haven’t they?
